Benefits for you and your family

Competitive Pay

In 2019, our EMTs earned an average of almost $39,000 per year and our paramedics earned an average of more than $60,000. Your total annual compensation will vary based on experience, credentials and the number of hours worked. Our compensation packages also include paid time off, such as vacation, sick, funeral and bereavement leaves, as well as “well pay” and holiday pay.

Flexible Schedules

We offer a variety of full-time and part-time positions with varied shift schedules.

Ownership and Retirement Accounts

When you join Acadian, you become much more than an employee—you become an owner. Our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) allows our employee-owners to align our actions and attitudes with the principles of ownership, which strengthens the foundation of our company and promotes continued growth.

Employees who enroll in our 401(k) program automatically receive annual company contributions to their retirement savings in the form of Acadian stock shares. These employees are "employee-owners" who benefit directly when the company succeeds.

The value of our company shares has grown tremendously over the years, creating well-deserved and well-funded retirement accounts for our employee-owners. As an example, a paramedic contributing to a 401(k) and receiving the ESOP match can earn approximately $60,000 after five years, $180,000 after 10 years and $650,000 toward their retirement after 20 years of participation.
