Innovation
Innovation at Acadian comes from the people who know our patients and clients best—our employees. Our client solutions are not generated from one person in an office but from hundreds of our employees who work diligently to care for patients and clients in innovative ways and stay at the forefront of medical and technological advancements.
Specialized Units
Our ambulance fleet contains many units specially outfitted for critical care, bariatric and pediatric transports.
Strike Teams
Acadian Ambulance’s service area covers many areas that have experienced the damage and destruction caused by natural disasters. When called upon, we are able to mobilize strike teams, whether in our service area or in other states.
Special Operations
Acadian Ambulance established a special operations team in Bexar County in 2017 and began a partnership with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office SWAT program. The Acadian Special Operations team is trained in tactical combat casualty care (TCCC) and other advanced clinical skills.
Whole Blood
Acadian Ambulance is one of the EMS providers offering whole blood capabilities in San Antonio, the first major city in the nation to have Low titer group O whole blood carried on ambulances. The ability to transfuse whole blood in the prehospital setting can vastly increase survival rates for patients with traumatic injuries.
Mobile Healthcare
Acadian Ambulance’s Mobile Healthcare program partners with hospice, primary care providers and accountable care organizations. Our specially trained Mobile Healthcare paramedics visit patients’ homes and assist them to appropriately manage their healthcare and determine the most appropriate treatment options. The program decreases unnecessary transports to hospital emergency departments, improves in-home patient care and reduces costs.
